I met Hope completely by chance back in December whilst out on an errand to buy some Christmas cards. I cheekily introduced myself having overheard her discussing wedding plans with a friend and I’m very pleased and grateful to say that she booked! Fast forward to May and I arranged to meet up with Hope and fiance Neil for their Clifton pre wedding shoot at the splendid Merchants Hall on the Promenade, which will be their reception venue in July. It was forecast to be a beautiful sunny day with clear skies so we got together at 9am to make the most of the soft early morning light. As a bonus the bridge would be quieter too. We couldn’t have timed it better on what turned out to be the nicest day of the year so far.
They brought their super cute little baby boy Noah along for the ride who followed us around, dutifully escorted by his grand parents while we got down to business. After a quick catch up and a few warm up shots and family portraits at Merchants Hall and along the promenade we headed over to Clifton Suspension Bridge, and then down for a wander around the village itself. There are so many to choose from, but some of my favourite shots of the day are beneath the dappled trees – the position of the sun was just in the right spot for shooting into the light.
One thing I like about Hope is that she loves to laugh – a LOT, at pretty much anything in fact! Neil, although a bit nervous to begin with turned out to be as cool as a cucumber and I can’t wait to photograph their wedding day come July. I know it’s going to be a lot of fun!
