Ollie and Caryn eloped to Bali back in February and held a Bishops Palace wedding celebration one evening for close family and friends on their return. Ollie is in the Navy and Caryn from the USA, they met in California and they both live here now in the South West.
It had been a drizzly grey day – great weather for ducks! With no let up and fading light we quickly whizzed through some outdoor family group photos to make the most of the greenery, before exploring the palace gardens for a few bride and groom portraits. The gardens are really beautiful too; with fourteen well tended acres set around the 800 year old medieval palace which makes for a fabulous backdrop, all surrounded by a moat.
After putting up with as much of the wet stuff that Caryn’s dress could handle we ducked inside for the reception so they could catch up with their guests. I was a big admirer of their official wedding photos which they had on display (a Bali beach wedding which made for a stunning setting!). The speeches were great and Ollie and Caryn topped the night off dancing to a funky little jazz number. I couldn’t leave out the final image at the bottom of the page. A completely spontaneous and very impressive group photo – a four stacker human pyramid, rock solid with perfect symmetry – top work!
