Ross and Evelyn’s Square Club wedding ended up being a particularly smiley day for me. I enjoyed it so much! I first met them both when we hooked up for a colourful Westonbirt Arboretum pre wedding shoot, almost a year to the day. It was great to see them again – and Scruffy! Evelyn works with animals (I’ll let you guess her favourite), and they’re both really cool people to be around.

Back in September I drove up to Gloucestershire for Katie and Craig’s Elmore Court wedding. I met Katie and the bridesmaids at a lovely little cottage in the countryside called Hartleton Lake Retreat. The sun was shining, and a relaxed morning was spent here getting ready before heading over to Elmore Court for the wedding ceremony. read more
It’s about time I shared some of Claire & Ashley’s gorgeous Aldwick Court Farm wedding photos from the summer. I don’t know if it’s just me or just the weather in general, but I seem to have been pretty lucky with the sunshine this year. This particular day in July was a hot sticky one, with a touch of whispy cloud to keep the squinty eyes at bay. read more
I’d been looking forward Jemma and Ben’s Coombe Lodge Wedding for what seemed like an age. I remember when we first met how excited they both were, and that excitement rubbed off on me! Coombe Lodge is an absolute gem of a venue with a great team behind it. If luck’s on your side, it’s also one of the few wedding venues in Somerset where you can catch the setting sun all the way down to the horizon. You just need to take a short walk into the adjacent field. Timing it perfectly, Jemma & Ben lucked out big time that day. I made sure we milked every last drop of golden sunlight! read more
Every now and then I get asked to photograph a mid week wedding with a few hours coverage. Whilst most of the weddings I blog are full day affairs, I just wanted to share some lovely photographs from Paul and Maria’s Hotel du Vin wedding in the centre of Bristol back in May. Already well known for it’s fine food, Hotel du Vin is makes for a very relaxed, cosy wedding venue, challenging in parts from a photography standpoint due to it’s low light conditions. After an intimate ceremony with close friends and family we went for a short walk to the Christmas Steps on what was a blustery on/off rainy kind of day. With the weather dictating play I had to get a little creative with some of the more sheltered spots. Top tip: no matter where you decide to get married be generous with the confetti – definitely my favourite images from the day!
