It’s about time I shared some of Shaila & Oliver’s Assembly Rooms wedding photos! Roll back to a sunny Friday in September. A day that was neither too hot nor too cold – perfect ‘operating’ temperature for me at least! S&O got in touch at the beginning of the year after finding my details on the Bath Venues website. They both live in Denver Colorado, and during a quick skype call I warmed to them immediately. Oliver grew up in Biddestone, not far from Bath, and as he managed to win the wedding toss they brought a whole host of their American friends over with them.

Last year I was given the opportunity to be Amy & Tim’s Pennard House Wedding photographer. If you haven’t heard of it, Pennard House is a bit of a hidden gem in terms of Somerset wedding venues. Tucked away in some of the most idyllic countryside, this Georgian manor and coach house is set in secluded gardens and surrounded by woodland and meadows. Photography wise, I was spoilt for choice! It also happens to be somewhere close to my heart, just 10 minutes away from the site of Glastonbury festival. In fact this beautiful country house is usually taken over at that time by music industry types and is full of festival memorabilia. There’s also a nod to Glastonbury with it’s own tipi field that guests can hire for accommodation. read more
It was July, and just twelve hours before I woke up for Tom & Wynne’s Folly Farm wedding it was forecast to rain all day. Then, driving over in the morning with umbrellas in the back, the sun was shining and I was thinking “isn’t this beautiful, such a shame it’s going to pour down”. Well, someone must have been looking down on them both because there was a miraculous turn around and it stayed that way for the rest of the day – very breezy but with clear skies for the most part. We even managed to eke out a sunset! read more
Jonny & Nelo’s Tortworth Court Wedding was always going to be a little bit different. When I say ‘different’, I mean chaotic – but of the organised kind! Their wedding was a half English half Iranian affair, and with Nelo being American a lot of the guests had traveled over from the USA. My somewhat limited experience of Iranian weddings so far has taught me to just fly by the seat of my pants and roll with it. And what’s wrong with that?! We’d already discussed the day in detail and the likelihood of everything going according to plan. By the end of the night everyone had had a brilliant day to remember – including myself! read more
