Every now and then I get asked to photograph a mid week wedding with a few hours coverage. Whilst most of the weddings I blog are full day affairs, I just wanted to share some lovely photographs from Paul and Maria’s Hotel du Vin wedding in the centre of Bristol back in May. Already well known for it’s fine food, Hotel du Vin is makes for a very relaxed, cosy wedding venue, challenging in parts from a photography standpoint due to it’s low light conditions. After an intimate ceremony with close friends and family we went for a short walk to the Christmas Steps on what was a blustery on/off rainy kind of day. With the weather dictating play I had to get a little creative with some of the more sheltered spots. Top tip: no matter where you decide to get married be generous with the confetti – definitely my favourite images from the day!
There are some brave souls who attempt to wow the crowd with a well choreographed first dance, and then there’s Mike & Kirsten. It was quite obvious that a lot of time and effort went in to putting together their tidy little number to ‘Life’s a Happy Song’, by none other than……The Muppets! I can confidently say that I will never in my lifetime ever see that repeated, and for that I tip my hat and offer you both my sincere thanks! :) read more
I had a smile on my face for much of the time whilst editing these images, it was such a pleasure working my way through them and reliving Emma & Alasdair’s wedding day. They’d picked two brilliant, contrasting venues for their wedding at Arnos Vale & The Paintworks, just a few minutes walk from each other, and the spring sunshine cast a beautiful light across much of the day – we were even lucky enough to catch an unexpected sunset! read more
Last Saturday saw me bring the camera out from hibernation over the holidays and it felt great to be back in action. Rachel & Greg wanted an urban feel to their engagement shoot prior to their wedding in April, and opted for St Werburghs which is where Greg used to live. read more
