A Mud Dock Cafe Wedding with Ally and Joe: I absolutely loved this wedding, my penultimate of 2016. It also reminded me how lucky I am to be a Bristol wedding photographer – it’s such a great city to live in. I must have been shooting for going on 13 hours but it all seemed to whizz by!

It was July, and just twelve hours before I woke up for Tom & Wynne’s Folly Farm wedding it was forecast to rain all day. Then, driving over in the morning with umbrellas in the back, the sun was shining and I was thinking “isn’t this beautiful, such a shame it’s going to pour down”. Well, someone must have been looking down on them both because there was a miraculous turn around and it stayed that way for the rest of the day – very breezy but with clear skies for the most part. Jonny & Nelo’s Tortworth Court Wedding was always going to be a little bit different. When I say ‘different’, I mean chaotic – but of the organised kind! Their wedding was a half English half Iranian affair, and with Nelo being American a lot of the guests had traveled over from the USA. My somewhat limited experience of Iranian weddings so far has taught me to just fly by the seat of my pants and roll with it. And what’s wrong with that?! We’d already discussed the day in detail and the likelihood of everything going according to plan. By the end of the night everyone had had a brilliant day to remember – including myself! read more
